About Us

The idea for the Ready to Shoulder Sidekick door mounted rifle rack came while hunting in Eastern Montana. After a day of hiking miles through abysmal conditions with no success, the truck was a welcome sight. After getting in the truck and setting my rifle in the passenger seat, we set off back to camp. When not even a mile down the gravel road, a deer was standing on BLM land 75 yards off the road, by the time I pulled off to the side of the road, dragged my rifle over the center console, found the magazine got out of the truck and chambered a round, the deer got wise and spooked. On the way back to camp after contemplating every event that had happened the idea for a rifle mount that would enable quick access for similar situations to that which we had just encountered but also would enable rifles to be transported safely without dealing with sitting between your legs or in an inaccessible part of the vehicle. The Ready to Shoulder Sidekick gun mount was born.

In 2022 a rudimentary prototype was made from wood and pvc pipe and over the next year little progress was made. The mount idea was then shared with a lifelong friend, who is an avid hunter and outstanding mechanical engineer. Partnered together we have brought the Ready to Shoulder Sidekick rifle mount to the hunting community in hopes that it enables hunter success and be a staple in your hunting trip.

My love for hunting started in high school when my friend (and now partner in Ready to Shoulder) invited me on a hunting trip in Eastern Washington. After that trip I spent many years learning the discipline of hunting and although I am by no means an expert it has become a passion that is part of every single day I wake up. With a background in quality assurance within the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries specializing in failure analysis and corrective action, hunting trips (both successful and unsuccessful) give me the opportunity to utilize my professional experience and my passion to understand what caused success or failure. This is what drove the creation of the Ready to Shoulder rifle mount.

I have built my career as a mechanical engineer in manufacturing and product design. Outside of work, I find joy in spending time with my family in the great outdoors, whether it’s hunting, fishing, or camping. My passion for the wilderness was born during annual hunting trips during my childhood in eastern Washington, where I developed a deep appreciation for nature and adventure. When my lifelong friend and now business partner Michael
approached me to help solve a hunting related problem, I was eager to take on
the challenge. Driven by a desire to solve problems and innovate, I merged my engineering expertise with my love for the outdoors and we set out to create high-quality hunting and outdoor gear designed for unmatched reliability and performance in the field.
